Birdstreet Yarn Safety Information Summary

This yarn is designed for knitting, crochet and weaving projects.

This product contains wool. See the label for the yarn blend, showing % of each fibre.

Our undyed yarn is OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified as “harmless to human health.” (Oeko-tex.com)

We are “downstream users” not “producers” of chemicals. Safety data sheets for any chemicals used in the washing or dyeing process are available below. We follow the safety guidance within the Safety Data Sheets, throughout our dye process, to ensure safe working practices and the safety of our yarn.

Our yarn is thoroughly washed with moisturising, anti-bacterial hand-wash and water.

Should any dye solution come off on skin, when handling our yarn, wash with soap and clean water.

“If a temporary skin reaction occurs, it should be treated as allergic contact dermatitis. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.” (Jacquard.com)

Wool is fire resistant but nylon and other fibres are less fire resistant. Keep away from naked flames.

We recommend cold-water wash of finished garments. Do not tumble dry or iron.
