56% super-wash extra fine merino
44% superkid mohair

Our suppliers describe this lovely base:

"This singles yarn is next to skin soft, slightly fuzzy and has a beautiful pearly lustre due to the fineness of the mohair used. The mohair is not brushed but the singles construction allows the mohair fibres to bloom and form a delicate halo around the strand. It knits up into warm and lightweight items. Although technically a fingering weight yarn, you can also treat it like a thicker sport weight yarn, and knit on larger needles. This allows the mohair fibres more room to bloom and reach their full fuzzy potential. It is delightful worked up into lightweight shawls, cardigans, hats and cowls.

This yarn is extremely soft because of the extrafine merino and superkid mohair we use. The softness of mohair is the main determining factor of its quality. Superkid mohair is from the first shearing and these are the softest and finest fibres the mohair goats will ever produce. The second shearing is usually called kid mohair and is still of fine quality, but is not as soft as superkid mohair.

The main factor determining the quality of merino wool is also its softness which depends upon the fineness of the fibres. We use extrafine merino (19.5 microns) which is some of the finest commercially available for hand dyers.

Recommended Needle Size: 2.5 - 4mm needles
Gauge (stocking stitch): 28sts x 36 rows over 10cm/4 inches
on 3.25mm (US 3) needles"

Hand-dyed using professional acid dyes; no two skeins are completely identical due to the nature of this process, though they are dyed in batches.
Every attempt has been made to wash any residual dye from the yarn, however a little may remain; especially with dark or vivid colours, so I recommend to hand wash separately. Reshape made products whilst damp and dry flat.

All our yarn is hand-washed with moisturising, dermatologically-tested hand wash.

Colours may vary between viewing monitors; every effort has been made to represent a true reflection of the yarn.
